According to TeleGeography The Ministry of Communications and Informatisation (Minsvyazi) in Belarus has revealed that, based on its preliminary findings, national PTO Beltelecom had around 3.24 million (fixed) broadband subscribers at 30 September 2018, while at the same date the country was home to a total of 11.58 million mobile users.
Further, the ministry noted that there were 1.93 million IPTV subscribers in the country, up a net 156,600 in nine months, while the number of people connected to the IMS platform had increased by 314,500 to 2.81 million; GPON connections totalled 2.06 million at the same date. The capacity of the external channel for internet access, according to preliminary data compiled by Minsvyazi, stood at 1.41Tbps at 1 October.
Turning to the country’s mobile market, Minsvyazi reported that there were 11.58 million cellular connections at the end of the third quarter, with net additions from January to September reaching 166,700. According to the ministry’s findings, combined 4G LTE cellular coverage stood at 75.6% at 30 September, while more than two million Belarusians were ‘actively’ using the next generation technology.
