According to BelTA online sales accounted for 25.1% of all the tickets sold via the computerized ticket sale and seat distribution system ASU Ekspress in ticket offices of Belarusian Railways in December 2018.
In 2018 nearly 2.6 million citizens opted for buying their Belarusian Railways tickets online, 22.4% up from 2017. Passengers also like buying their tickets via self-service kiosks. As many as 1.4 million tickets were sold via the kiosks in 2018, 40% up from 2017. Passengers can use self-service kiosks to buy tickets for regional economy-class trains and urban-line trains, including free tickets for kids under 7. The service is available to owners of plastic cards issued by any Belarusian bank. No commission fee is collected for selling tickets via the self-service kiosks. At present Belarusian Railways has 85 self-service kiosks. There are plans to install another 26 self-service kiosks with localizations in multiple languages at various Belarusian Railways stations in the run-up to the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019. The kiosks will be able to accept coins and banknotes.
