According to BelTA Belarus places 57th in Cable.co.uk's World Broadband Speed League this year.
Belarus has climbed up 9 notches over 2018 (66th last year). Among the neighboring countries, only Poland improved its ranking and is now 28th. The research is based on the data of M-Lab, an open source project with contributors from civil society organizations, educational institutions, and private sector companies. Broadband is measured in 207 countries and territories. The World Broadband Top 10 is topped by Taiwan, Singapore, and the UK Crown Dependency of Jersey. The remainder of the top 10 countries are Sweden, Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Yemen goes last with the lowest speed globally.
